Dores is on the south shore of Loch Ness, and it seems like the end of the Loch even although there is a short distance to go. Standing on the stony shoreline the view extends for an amazing 22 miles down the Loch and Great Glen.
It was just getting into spring 2012 on an April evening when I took this shot.
So many people have taken a photograph of this iconic view from the same spot as I did, however there couldn’t possible ever be two images the same, as the light and the nature of the water change so quickly, each photograph is unique.
I was only there for an hour that evening, and I had shot so many photo’s, some with the sun shining and reflecting on the water and others with shadows created by the clouds. It was a quite magical atmosphere.
