This morning was absolutely glorious, therefore, with camera and bike we made our way to the shores of the Beauly Firth by Tarradale house. Cycling along farm tracks on the outskirts of Muir of Ord, was amazing, with clear views of the the snow clad Ben Wyvis on one side and the glistening waters of the Firth under a lovely spring sunshine certainly made me appreciate this beautiful part of the world in which I live.
In a previous post I’ve said quite a lot about the Beauly Firth and I don’t want to be repeating myself, so I’ve done a bit of research, regarding the area.
I was very interested to subsequently find out that the artist J.M.W. Turner visited Inverness in 1831 and sketched the Beauly Firth from North Kessock,and Beauly Firth from Clachnaharry and is part of his ‘Inverness Sketchbook’, which is now in the Tate Gallery in London.
