January Photo Challenge

Well what a month! This has been a very exciting project to have undertaken. I had approximately 24,000 photographs, spanning 4 years, languishing on my external hard drive, many of which I had forgotten about, and others very well remembered.

Living in the Highlands, has given me so many opportunities to jump in the car and drive to wherever the weather map said it wasn’t raining, however the weather predictions weren’t always been correct!

The first challenge was to finally have the Macpherson Landscape Photography website up and running, and in the the more than capable hands of Andrew of Creative Transmissions, this was achieved.

So now I was the proud owner of a beautiful minimalist website, exactly as I envisaged.

The next challenge was to be the hard, but fun, part for me.

The January Photo Challenge was for me to post a new photo each day, but I didn’t like the idea of posting a shot I had taken and not saying anything about the scene and setting, so the next task was to write something personal to me about the particular photograph, and something interesting for people to read. I have thoroughly enjoyed the hours of research about so many different areas, the history, geography, wildlife, and the odd wee story peculiar to a place.

As tomorrow is the last day of January, my 31 day journey is coming to an end. It’s been a fantastic adventure, reliving some great memories and firing up the enthusiasm to create new ones, seen through the eyes of a lens.

I hope all of you have enjoyed my work so far, and I’m looking forward to sharing the future with you.

Maureen
